John Cena will return to WWE programming tonight Monday Night Raw To celebrate 20 years of his WWE appearance on screen. As Cena’s career in Hollywood continues to grow, many have questioned how far he will continue to wrestle in any capacity. He explained his thoughts regarding the rest of his wrestling career in an interview with Chris Hardwick last year.
“Back in WWE, it’s a whole new world,” Cena said. “A new cast of characters, a new direction with the company, new platforms, a new environment. There’s a challenge there.” “To challenge my 44-year-old self to come back, there’s a fundamental challenge there, a set of circumstances. That’s a good challenge in many ways. My body can tell me after such a long stay, ‘Dude, you’re re-finishing’ or it can tell me, ‘You’re away’ Too about ending, it’s crazy.” This is another interesting conversation with myself. If I’m physical, I’m slower, I honestly told everyone I’d keep doing it until I offended the client. I will constantly go there and do what I can to contribute and add.
“I don’t want to go out there and say, ‘Okay, let him go out there and (do whatever he wants).'” “I’m not a fan of that because I know what it’s like to pay for a ticket.” “If I’m going to do that in this round, it’s going to be a humbling and difficult thing to have to hit. If I get the other way around and it’s like, ‘You’re faster and you can do some things better and define the character,’ that’s a new conversation because I don’t have much time left and if I wanted to give it a like, ‘Let’s really stick to this thing and really start everything’, that’s an honest choice where other things have to take a backseat.”
